The future of the
Vancouver Island Pickleball Association
Vancouver Island Pickleball Association
December 31.2022
Sadly no one has stepped forward and expressed a willingness to take over the running of the Vancouver Island Pickleball Association. I received a number of enquiries, but no one followed through. Many were surprised when I outlined the extent of the time I have committed to VIPA - encouraging the growth of pickleball on the Island, acting as a catalyst to support players through informative website content & newsletters and the promotion of tournaments, clinics, leagues and other related events. For me it has been a 'labour of love'!
The website will remain available to be viewed, with diminished content*, for several months but will not be updated after December 31.2022.

Final Call
My plea (see below) for someone to take over the running of the Vancouver Island Pickleball Association went unanswered.
Unless someone steps forward, before the end of the year, the work of VIPA will cease. Most notably the website will no longer be updated and there will be no more monthly newsletters.
It is still my hope that the right person (or persons) will come forward. If you are interested please contact me.

In 2013 the Vancouver Island Pickleball Association (VIPA) was launched to help promote the sport of pickleball on Vancouver Island. Our website has become the first stop for anyone - new players, visitors and existing players - wanting information about playing pickleball on Vancouver Island.
Our primary purpose is to encourage the growth of pickleball and to act as a catalyst to support players through an informative website, monthly newsletters and the promotion of tournaments, clinics, leagues and other related events.
Through our website we encourage and facilitate membership in Pickleball Canada and Pickleball BC. VIPA charges no fees.
It has paid its bills (primarily website hosting/maintenance costs) in large part from the proceeds of running/sponsoring tournaments, together with a small contribution from advertisers and donors.
After a decade of running VIPA I have decided to step aside - to make way for fresh ideas and new vitality.
My hope is that the right person (or persons) will take over the running of the Vancouver Island Pickleball Association.
If you love the game of pickleball, have some rudimentary computer skills, and would like to give back to the game, then this is your opportunity to do so. I would be more than happy to devote as much time as is needed to ensure a smooth transition.
Please let me know if you're interested: [email protected]
Thank you.
